This Is Me In Grade 9 - Aside from the perm, not much has changed over the years (that includes my lack of fashion sense)!
I spent my formative years living on a farm in a small northern community on Vancouver Island. In 1994, I migrated across the Georgia Straight to Vancouver, BC, where I attended BCIT and studied broadcasting & media communications, and marketing. However, back in 1990, I graduated from a secretarial program, and to this day I still fall back on my office skills. But without my varied work and educational background, I couldn’t have written my book!
Background: Voiceover talent (video games); Production Assistant (film and television); video & photo editing, archiving and restoration; secretary.
Education: Sprott-Shaw College of Business (Secretarial); BCIT (Radio, Marketing and Television).
Passions: Writing, collecting memorabilia, travel, music, photography and Barbra Streisand!
Favourite travel destinations: New York City, Los Angeles, Seattle and Mexico.
Favourite bars: Mezzro Jazz Club - NYC; The Whisky Bar - Seattle; Comox Street Long Bar - Vancouver, BC.
Favourite writers: Jerzy Kosiński, Truman Capote and Patti Smith (and when Barbra Streisand finishes her biography in 2018, she’ll be first on my list!).
